How to prepare yourself for the photo shoot.

If you modelling next to the seashore often, you can ignore this article :-) Bat it may become quite useful for others, who are going to pose for the photographer.

So, Canaries are tropical island, so the sunrises and sunsets are sudden and quick. Best time for photography is 8 to 12 o'clock in the morning and 18 - 21 in the evening, little variable depending on seasons. Sun is very hot after the midday until 5 p.m. The shadows become harsh and it's hard to keep eyes open before the camera for a long time. So, we have to get up very early (5-6 a.m.!) to prepare for the shoots and have a couple of good espressos.

Surely, most of people feel shy for the first time before the professional photographer, it is normal. Not all of us are actors by the nature. But it takes just a few minutes and you get better. Just try and begin to pose, and I promise, everything will be fine and we'll get the perfect pictures anyway.

Some piece of advice:

  • Wash your head before the shoots. Do not forget to take a hairbrush or a comb with you.
  • Please don't make a brand new haircut right before the shoots.
  • If you make up yourself, do it a little more bright and vibrant. Flashes will make it look just right.
  • Use SPF sun filters.
  • Don't forget about manicure and pedicure (guys - just cut your nails)
  • Try to avoid being sunburnt - no sunbathing from 13 to 17! Use sun lotions!
  • Try to sleep well before the shoot.
  • Don't drink a lot the night before the shoots.

What to wear and what to take with you:

If you wish some kind of beach/resort styled romantic shoot, the best choice are light coloured, airy cotton clothes. Linen trousers, light blue jeans, white or beige shirt is a good place to start for men. For girls, the light beach dress is a good choice. Shorts and skirts looks good too. Couples should wear the same style and colours. Shoes: sandals or mocassines.

When we shoot on beach, it' good to take some clothes that you won't be scared to wet in ocean.

Photo shoots is a great opportunity to wear a dress, that you cannot wear in your common days. Or buy some new great stuff! Do not be afraid to re-incarnate! It is essential to create some different, uncommon appearance. By the way, when you change your common image, it helps to tune up and get the right mood for the shoots.
